From blank canvas to portable file.

Create a whiteboard, technical diagram, or presentation; edit it with familiar canvas tools; and keep an editable backup outside browser storage.

1. Create or open

  1. Choose Whiteboard, Technical diagram, or Presentation from the home page.
  2. Select a template for a ready-made structure, or open a supported local file.
  3. MapMedium immediately creates a browser-local document and continues autosaving changes.

2. Navigate the canvas

ActionControl
PanHand tool, middle mouse drag, or hold Space while dragging.
ZoomMouse wheel/trackpad with Ctrl/, or use the zoom control.
SelectClick an object. Shift-click adds/removes objects. Drag empty canvas for a selection marquee.
Move preciselyArrow keys; hold Shift for larger steps.
Edit textDouble-click a shape or text object.

3. Draw and connect

Choose a tool from the left toolbar. Drag to create shapes, frames, and ink. With the connector tool, drag from one shape to another to bind the connection; moving either shape updates the route.

Use the right inspector to change fill, stroke, typography, opacity, rounded corners, line routing, arrowheads, rough styling, and shadows.

Use File → Import or drag a file onto the canvas. The app supports:

Complex draw.io libraries, compressed vendor extensions, VSDX, Gliffy, and Lucidchart-specific formats are not guaranteed in this standalone build.

6. Export and back up

Download an editable backup before clearing browser data, switching devices, or making major changes.
